Come and Rest is a retreat for those carrying heavy hearts, walking through difficult seasons, or searching for hope and meaning in the midst of suffering. Through prayer, reflection, and honest conversation, this retreat invites participants to encounter God’s presence in life’s struggles and to discover that even in hardship, we are not abandoned.
Retreat talks will explore themes of faith and resilience, the question of why suffering exists, letting go of the pressure to “fix” everything, and the ways human beings can grow through struggle and adversity. Together, we will reflect on how God meets us in our wounds, strengthens us in uncertainty, and gently leads us toward healing, peace, and deeper trust.
Whether you are experiencing grief, anxiety, burnout, disappointment, or simply the weight of everyday life, Come and Rest offers space to pause, pray, and be renewed in the company of others seeking hope.
Retreat check-in starts on Friday at 4 pm in St. John the Apostle Building 300. The retreat begins with a 5:15 pm dinner and concludes with Mass on Sunday morning. Throughout the weekend, there will be talks, Eucharistic Adoration, Confession, and time for personal prayer & reflection.
As part of the retreat experience, we will have licensed mental health therapists on site. You will have the opportunity to listen to and speak to these therapists throughout the weekend. Though these individuals are licensed with the state of Florida, formal counseling will not be a part of the retreat experience. Upon arrival, you will sign a form confirming you understand that these conversations do not take the place of clinical counseling, are purely consultative, and you will seek out professional counseling if needed.
